Where to buy ukulele in san francisco

Visitors can play some of the many models displayed in the in-house showroom and feel that aloha spirit of Hawaii — even in Sonoma County. The Chronicle regrets the error. Sonoma is a not-so-secret mecca for endurance athletes. For years, we have serviced San Francisco and all regional areas of California State with our quality instruments and accessories. A one day festival featuring performances from international stars as well as hula dancing, Hawaiian food, and a family friendly party from noon until late into the night.

More recently, the brilliantly named Uke-tober Fest is a weekend event held in Japantown at the start of October. The focus is much more on seeing top class musicians than workshops and the like, although there are also jam sessions over the weekend. Held every week, the jam sessions take varying themes such as reggae, 80s, and the incredibly popular Beatles night. You are invited to strum along as well as enjoy the best ukulele players that California has to offer.

There is also the Ukulele Rebellion , a club that focuses more on teaching the instrument by offering classes and workshops all year around, as well as regular social events to connect enthusiasts of the instrument. Aloha, I am taking a quick trip to San Francisco on Saturday and was wondering if there are any good ukulele stores in San Francisco.

Do any of you know? Joined Feb 5, Messages 28, Points 0. MM Stan Check this out Last edited: Apr 14, Joined Oct 12, Messages 11, Points Good suggestions from Stan Aloha, Stan. I've been to both places.

The owner of Aloha Warehouse is a friend of one of my ukulele instructors and a very nice guy. The shop has lots of Kala ukuleles and some mid-priced and higher end ukuleles for example, Pono and Kanile'a as well. Guitar Solo is mostly a guitar shop, but the people there are passionate about stringed instruments. The variety of the ukuleles ebbs and flows. I've seen ukuleles from both Kala and Kamaka there, although the selection is usually somewhat limited. The people who work there don't tend to be all that knowledgeable about ukuleles.

I'd prioritize my browsing time in this order: 1. Aloha Warehouse 2. Guitar Solo 3. Gryphon is highly regarded both at UU and on Yelp. I bought my first ukulele there. Music Works gets good reviews on Yelp. Unfortuately, Gryphon and Music Works are in opposite directions from each other.

I hope that helps. Last edited: Apr 15, ConspiracyUkeist New member. Joined Apr 11, Messages Points 0. Joined Dec 29, Messages 13 Points 0. Wow, this thread has perfect timing!

I was going to post something similar as I was just accepted into the San Francisco State University museum studies masters program and will be moving to San Francisco in August. I am so happy for these fantastic suggestions as on my many previous trips to the city, I have never really searched out music stores. Thank you, even though the thread was not aimed at me, it has been beyond helpful.
