Where is the most critters in wow

For years I have been asking myself what are the quest designers smoking. Now we have proof they are drinking. Second people can scare your thing at any time by just walking past it … Great! So anyone can jeopardize progress of others for whatever reasons. Third even if no-one is bothering you this idiotic critter may lose interest if you are not fast enought killing the mandatory mob that spawn … Cool! Fourth sometimes you scare those idiots at max range for no reasons probably linked to if you are in combat or not.

A quest where others players are competing against each others AND can sabotage each others progress should never exists IMO. WarcraftPets defines a companion pet as any summoned entity that meets ALL of the following criteria:. Companions will loyally and cheerfully accompany you as you journey through Azeroth and beyond.

Some will do interesting things when left idle, such as twirling around or falling asleep. For the most part, companions exist to give your character a little extra flair. In the Mists of Pandaria expansion, Blizzard introduced the ability to rename your companions. Note that some names are reserved and all names must be kept family-friendly — sorry, no companions referencing bodily functions. To rename your pet, simply bring up your Pet Journal and find it in the list.

Then right-click on it and select "Rename. There are currently companion pets available to collect. Don't let that number frighten you. Pet collecting can be as casual as you like and it's a lot of fun. In addition to providing a way to organize all companions, these categories provide passive bonuses and different modifiers both good and bad when a pet enters into battle.

For example, Aquatic companions are stronger against Magic but weaker against Elemental. Why collect epic armor sets? Why collect tabards? Why collect mounts? Why collect anything in World of Warcraft? Because it's fun, challenging, and it gives you a way to set yourself apart from others.

When you obtain a very rare pet, you can showcase your find to others and be the envy of all of Azeroth Plus, it's neat to be asked by other players where you found your exotic little friend. Pets especially are one of the most fascinating things to collect. Unlike epic gear or reputation rewards, they never become obsolete. For this reason more than any other, pet collecting is something you can enjoy for as long as you play World of Warcraft.

No doubt, you've collected many things over the years. Sports memorabilia, toys, dolls, comic books, coins, trading cards So what kind of collector are you? Are you the obsessive type that must have one of everything to complete your collection? Or are you more patient and persistent, allowing your collection to grow in its own good time.

Perhaps your approach is far more selective, choosing only to collect those items which truly interest you. Luckily, collecting vanity pets has appeal for hardcore collectors, casual collectors, and everyone in between. Today you may consider yourself a casual collector. But in three months you could decide to go for broke. There's no right or wrong way to establish your pet collection.

However, as you read this guide, it will be helpful to have some idea of your short-term pet collecting goals. For example, are you looking to collect a few of the "cooler" pets? Maybe you're a cat person and simply want to start by collecting all of the cats. Or perhaps you're ready to dive into the challenge of collecting every single pet you can get your hands on.

Pet collecting would be much less appealing if every pet was easy to get. Where's the challenge in that? Lucky for us, there are many obstacles to overcome:. Sounds like fun, right?

Remember, anything worthwhile in World of Warcraft takes some effort. Pet collecting is no different. But the rewards are worth it trust me! There's simply no feeling like the one you get when your pet finally drops after killing over a thousand mobs. It's priceless. This guide offers strategies to help you deal with the challenges that lie ahead. Plus, we've got all sorts of tools and information on the WarcraftPets site that will be invaluable as you build your collection.

I could even go and make myself a cup of coffee and it will continue killing those, even in away mode. So as long as you're logged in, the kills are slowly ticking away.

Hope this helps. Edit: Did it with my guild today. There simply isn't a bether way or a better place to do it! Coupla stacks of Stormchops and a group of guildies spread around Ironforge side of Deeprun Tram and you have the achievment in no time! As mentioned above, every kill counts towards every present guild member, meaning that if you have 10 guild memebers standing there, every critter killed counts like 10 so even those who were just standing there not killing anything were contributing!

All in all, great fun and achievement done with no effort at all. Please give this post good rating so others can avail of this nice way to get this achievement done. We first did the cave in the plaguelands and then went to Northrend. Comment by LittleCarp04 Does the Worgen tunnel still work?

Comment by Ingek Flying around off the south coast of borean tundra From a bit east of Kaskala moving all the way west along the coast until you reach Coldarra I have found you can farm tundra penguins at a pretty decent rate.

There are 8 or so different icebergs with penguins on them on this path, each containing about penguins each, give or take a few. Don't really have any per hour calculations, but it seems like it could be just as fast as some of the other methods listed. Comment by Just did what it said on Wowwiki. Comment by Hi.. We thought it would be in the guild vendor, but we have clicked on all 3 in there and nothing shows up for this pet. Comment by Aleshanation Being in a guild group gets you extra kills.

This also applies if you group as a raid. It took us approximately 10 minutes to get about 9, critters. The advantage of this place is the high spawn rate of the snakes, although there are not as many as the cave near where you turn in this quest. The cave is to the left and across the lake nearest to Western Plaguelands. It has a BOAT load of critters, but if you have a massive group you will massacre the cave in no time and be waiting around for awhile. Comment by socalheel 4,35 in eastern plaguelands as most have already stated.

Comment by Just a little north west from Kharanos Aprox There is a bunch of tame crag boars. I killed about 30 in less then 1 min alone. As prevous posts said get a raid group going and it will count times multiple. The respawn rate is almost instant by the time I cleared one side the others were back up. Comment by cinb40 Put a guild group together and we went to zul'gurub to the snakes, amazingly fast respawn rate In an hour we killed and achievement popped!

You MUST be exalted with guild to get the pup! We have achievement and no one in guild is exalted! Needless to say everyone was disappointed Comment by Quick question.

Last week I found a macro for targeting all the critters. But it used their ID s rather than names. I know I could just grab all the numbers from the links. But that would take a fair bit of time I'd rather use for gaming.

So if somebody could tell me what or where that macro is, I would really appreciate it. Comment by toxic wastling pet in deeprun tram gives aprox per hr and all ya gotta do is stand there and look pretty :P. Comment by firehawk Tried this in a group of 3 of us in the Terrorweb Tunnel in Eastern Plaguelands. It seems that Patch 4. Comment by Tripfel The cave Northwest in Western plague lands works very well for this acheve :.

Comment by If you happen to be leveling a goblin, in the area surrounding Town-in-a-Box, the Wild Cluckers count toward this achievement. There are many cluckers and the respawn rate seems to be rather quick, as by time I finished a single circuit around the town, they had respawned.

Comment by Druegar I had been using just Stormchops then eventually added my Toxic Wasteling to rack up the kills for this achievement. I started out dispatching rats in the Ironforge side of the Deeprun Tram Depot , then went to High Priest Venoxis 's altar in Zul'Gurub because I thought the abundance of snakes would improve the opportunities for the toxic wasteling to "feed" since the rats in DR are less numerous.

However, I switched back to DR because I got sick of dying when people did the quest and I didn't find the vermin fatality rate to be significantly better. Here are my numbers. Please note, they are somewhat rough because I did this at work and couldn't always come back at the exact 30 minute mark.

Hopefully they're close enough to give folks a feel for what they can expect. Location 9. Location Comment by Gah, I want the armadillo pup so dang bad but I can't quite bring myself to kill cats yet and the place that I've been spending most my time has a lot of cats.

I'm thinking about trying to find the elk surrounded by deer that I use for farming leather but for the life of me I can't recall where that was. Comment by Noxaparti "Another glorious chapter in Orc history. Tell me, do they still sing songs of the Critter Hunt? Comment by Dalylah As a warlock I just went demonology, went to the cave in EPL and ran through while casting hellfire.

It's a huge time saver since you only have to run through the tunnel that way. Comment by Droner I've always found these to be plentiful in Tol Barad, if you don't mind fending off their larger counterparts. Kind of easy to farm and like I said, there's plenty of them skittering around.

Comment by Just got the achievement. Comment by jd I was killing time in Stormwind and I noticed there were rats everywhere not sure about Org for Horde. I made a macro to auto target them and kill them.

You can get a lot of kills when you are hanging around SW without really trying. This is not going to be a very efficient method, but it doesn't require any special hunting since you will probably spend some time in SW anyway. Comment by cryptlord99 If you enter Gundrak you can kill the many snakes who are slithering around near the 1st boss. Comment by I've been experimenting with the locations and tactics here to figure out the fastest critter kill rate.

I also had Willy out, though he does more sleeping than zapping. Stormchops is an interesting dynamic that works well in some areas and not so well in others. For smaller critters like roaches, the lightning zap often arced to multiple nearby critters, meaning more dead critters every proc. It would not arc for larger critters like snakes, however. I found that the best case scenario for Stormchops was a small area of small critters, close together, that respawned almost immediately. AOE did better in areas with lots of critters and fairly rapid respawn, using a character with an AOE that could be cast cheaply and rapidly while moving.

Best case scenario was a dense area of critters that respawned quickly enough that you could walk in a circle spamming AOE, and the ones you killed first had already respawned by the time you got back to the beginning. These are solo numbers. Presumably your kill rate would be higher if you brought along a guildmate or two to someplace like Deeprun Tram and spread out a bit so that you each Stormchopped or AOEd a small area with no overlap.

These are Horde-accessible areas. Zul'Gurub snakes where snake boss is, but outside of instance; you do not have to be in the instance to see the snakes : Approx snakes, approx 30 second respawn.

AOE kill rate with pause for mana recharge : I've heard that there's a quest at this location that kills everyone that is there, but I have yet to encounter this. Not that I need a reason to do this naked, but When the quest starts, we stand to the side, take a little break, and allow the quester to take care of their business.

Agmar's Hammer is nice because you don't need to move around to AOE. Stand between the spawn points of the two roaches, and click your AOE every five-count. Terrorweb Tunnel bugs : bugs, approx minute respawn, full tunnel sweep only takes mins when spamming AOE AOE kill rate first sweep, all critters spawned : The first sweep through the tunnel was great, but that pace couldn't be maintained because the critters wouldn't spawn for a considerable time, meaning I was either standing around waiting for spawns, or mowing down the handful of bugs that had respawned.

For the same reason slow respawn , Stormchops was useless. Once nearby bugs were dead, Stormchops wouldn't proc for several minutes. Should also mention that there is at least one quest in this tunnel, and those of us who are polite find ourselves walking slowly behind low-levels who are questing through the tunnel, so that our AOEs don't completely wipe out all the mobs they need for the quest.

Good manners not only lowers the critter kill rate, it requires a certain level of alertness, so this is not a good place to critter kill while watching TV. Of course, to get into the tram you will need to fly through Stormwind or Ironforge , which will flag you for PvP. If you're not a fan of PvP, fly straight into the Deeprun Tram instance portal, then go hide somewhere for 5 minutes until your PvP timer clicks off. For example, using Stormchops while standing amidst the turkeys in Howling Fjord gave a miserable result, as the turkeys were too far spread out for the Stormchops to hit.

The penguins along Northrend coasts did not respawn very quickly, so I had to fly around a lot looking for more--again resulting in a low kill rate per minute. Zul'Gurub is best for active AOE critter killing.

Your results or conclusions may differ. There is endless critters. Also using a companion that kills critters such as Lil'KT will kill critters too. Comment by Turkeys in Howling Fjord at Stormchops not working here and you cant AOE em coz they spawns at y range so you have to target em 1st and then use your ranged wep or any instant cast and if you do that you will have nice kpm kill per min. Atleast you stay at 1 place and just rotating at diferent directions and selecting criters Comment by velde Best spot is Deeprun tram.

Find a nice spot on the opposite side of the entrance agaianst the wall and face the middle. THe respawn rate is so fast you'll never run out of critters. All you do is stand there and re-cast Magma every 2 minutes. It's about critters per hour. Enter on the IF side, and go to the far wall all the way on the other side of the room from the instance portal.

If you stand with your back to that far wall, and the portal in front of you on the other side of the room, you'll see two pillars to your left. Put your magma totem just slightly to the left of the nearest pillar. This will place it within range of 3 rat spwan points, but also keep it far enough away that the rats don't come eat your totem.

Putting your totem right on top of a spawn point will let them get a 1 melee hit on it, so 5 rats would mean dead totem and you have to recast it. The reason I add the earthbind is to aggo the rats on the far right to bring them in range of the magma totem.

Comment by I've found my new favorite place to kill critters for this. In the Northwest corner of Mulgore, there is a place called Stonetalon Pass that you can clearly see on the map. I haven't messed around the area yet to see if there is a way to walk up there. Anyways, this place is full of critters. Bunnies, prairie dogs and mice. They are even three different sizes. Some are tiny, some are medium sized and some are large. The best part is that the waves of large critters changes every time you wipe them out and they respawn.

I don't want to ruin the surprise, so I won't say more. Needless to say, the large critters are hilarious to watch for a moment before you kill them. This isn't an area that you can AE in, and there is running around involved in the killing. But if you're like me and can't stand in one place for long, this is a wonderful and amusing spot to work on the achievement.

By the time I get back to where I started, everything has respawned and is ready for killing again. I hope you guys have fun with this! Seems like a very good spot to farm, both afk and aoe. Comment by A guildie and me went to ZG snake spot today, 4. We tried grouping in a party and a raid, letting pet kill them and killing them ourselves, but nothing helped. Me and my wasteling were left to afk grind on our own, while my guildie had fun elsewhere.

Maybe Blizzard wanted us to work harder for the achievement? Then the mobs will drop Hidden Stash es, which have a chance of containing Mr. Comment by My friend and I tag-teamed this over the last couple of days- she ran back and forth through the terrorweb tunnel in EPL about a 5 min respawn time and a little under kills per run through and I killed penguins on the islands of Borean Tundra. We averaged 1k kills every minutes. Every day while doing the firelands dailies I also killed bunches of spiders up on the spider hill forget the name at the moment which added quite a bit as those spiders re-spawn fast and there are so many.

Good luck! If you have your mage armor on you will never run out of mana It takes about 4 minutes to do a run with approx. Loch Modan , Dun Morogh , Wetlands. In the Wetlands , there are many in the hills of Dun Algaz. Scalawag Point , Howling Fjord. School of Fish. Terokkar Forest , Azuremyst Isle. Ghostlands , Azjol-Nerub , Terokkar Forest. Elwynn Forest , Ashenvale , Tirisfal Glades. In corrals on Orc farms in Durotar and The Barrens. Dustwallow Marsh , Underbog , Darnassus.

Borean Tundra and Dragonblight. Can only be seen around a Brewfest site and only if you are inebriated.
